Poker Room tells me sunglasses are banned from the games...
 

I was wearing sunglasses in a poker room when I was told that they were not allowed. I am not sure of the reason why they banned them although there were many people with eyeglasses and semi tinted glasses. Has anyone ever heard about something like this happening before?

I personally think that wearing sunglasses in a card room is -EV.

There are two camps "sunglasses are valuable tools that give you an edge" and "sunglasses are for pussies."

I think on this site you'll find more of the latter. I just feel that if you can't look someone in the eye while you're bluffing them or getting info on them you shouldn't be playing the game.

Just a preference/opinion.

As Upright Bill says - sunglasses might add to an image that tightens other people's play. A third camp, then. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I agree with the sunglass ban.

It undermines some of the psychological aspects of sound poker play.

I like to put my sunglasses on right before I bluff someone. Then I take them off when the floor walks by.

The good thing about sunglasses IMO is that it prevents people from knowing that you are looking at them. There are other ways to accomplish this though.

I don't use sunglasses and I'm not surprised they are banned in your room. They are not banned in mine, but it's fun to look at the people who take $1/$2 so seriously - one guy has his iPod with HUGE headphones, but I digress.
