$100 buying live 2-3 blinds at Commerce. table is reasonable, opponent I've busted once getting KK vs JJ and having him push against a raise with a T-high flop. He has $18 in front of him but $100 more coming.

I raise to $15 in mid position with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], he calls on the button.

Flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

I bet $15 he calls.

Turn is the K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I bet $25 he makes it $50. I call.

River is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

I check he tries to bet $70 (he doesn't have those chips yet), but i point out that he can only bet $38. At this point I'm pretty sure I'm beat, but have trouble folding for $38 into a pot that is already $198 with 2 pair.

How do you all play this?

I would not have raised AJ preflop in MP. I would have folded it preflop.

On the flop though. You have the top 2 pair and cannot allow him to draw the diamonds cheaply. You want to bet the full size of the pot in that situation. When the turn comes with no diamond, you should have simply bet all in considering the fact that you have $90 left and that was the size of the pot.

Given how you played it you have to call on that river bet. There is already a large portion of your cash in that pot, and you can't put him on a hand that has you beat. AK would have pushed for more money preflop or raised you up on the flop. Q10 is very unlikely and the only thing you really have to worry about is a set of fours. Since there are a large number of hands that you beat, you simply have to call the river.

AJos is a very bad hand, I see no point even playing it under normal circumstances.

I probably bet about 20 on the flop, then I can push the turn. AJo for a raise in MP is fine with short stacks. Limping would be a bad idea.

The way you played it, you definitely have to call the river.

Nothing wrong with playing AJo. The problem I see is playing 2-pair, which is one of the trickiest hands to play in NLHE. With that flop, I would have overbet the pot by at least 50% If you get called, then I wouldn't put anymore money in since you are most likely against a set.
