Paradise $100 4-table

Anyone playing this tonight?

What should I expect from a smaller field? More aggression? Less agression, seeing as you can afford to wait on hands more? Maybe no differences at all from a normal field?

I've played a few of these. (And have done pretty well). No difference, really, at least to my sub-WCP eye.

Doesn't seem like much difference in play so far. Same crazy and (it seems to me) too-loose play in the early stages, esp. pre-flop.

Ten eliminated already, 32 mins in. Haven't picked up any hands yet -- right now I'll be pleased if I get two cards higher than 5.

T1535, 18/29.

That didn't last long: pocket 9s UTG, raised to 200 (BB 50). UTG+1 goes all in for 750 more. All folds back around to me. ~1300, 750 to call.

I rationalized that I could be a small favorite here, that maybe he was trying to shut out other callers with AK/AQ/AJ or a middle pair. I call, he rolls AKo.

FLOP A K K and I'm crippled under 600.

And that's that...

KQo in the CO, all in for 550 or somesuch (50 BB still). Genius in the BB calls with A8c, I'm done.

Fun while it lasted.

This is what you should expect of almost every Paradise tournament including the $100K. The play there is ridiculously loose that you get a great Return but variance is huge. I usually stick with stars because when you have KK and push A2s usually folds, not so in paradise.
