AK in position vs an unexpected river bet

Villain is sLP-P over 200 hands. My only real question in this hand is the turn raise. I did not expect the CC CC bet line here at all. It threw me for a loop. I thought for a couple of seconds and then decided that the best play was to raise since I was probably way ahead of anything the villain calls my three-bet preflop with. The call of my raise on the river makes me think it was the proper play in this instance, but I'm more interested if a play like this is proper in the general sense in a situation identical to this one against what you would normally consider a passive opponent. A question that naturally follows is what do you do if this turn gets three bet? My inclination is to call anyway, but I don't know that this is the right play.

I would play it this way against every opponent. If the board were something like AQxxx or AJxxx then you have to be more careful. The only hands that need to worry about here are AA and 99. He doesn't have AA and 99 just got 1/3 as likely (though doubtful he would play it this way to begin with). You are probably looking at AQ here from the villian.
