Correct length for poker table legs?
I seem to recall a couple of people mentioning that they cut the bottom off of the standard folding table legs to make it more of an "official" poker table height.
Is there a standard per se for this? I will agree that the two tables I built before feel a little higher than normal. How much should I cut off, like an inch or two of the leg? Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

Most people cut 2 inches off the standard folding legs. I don't think there is an official height. It's whatever feels comfortable and depends on the chairs.

When I make my tables...I make the tops sit between 28 and 30 inches. That's just the way I think it comfortable... Considering I'm dealing from them most of the time, that's the height I like them at.

You can always cut more. I cut 2in off my legs and now wish I had only cut 1in off. I may go so far as to jam wood dowels into the steel legs and cutting those off.

It really depends on your chairs. If the chairs you have are too short for your table you will need to hack some off. I did 2" at first, but I think I need to go back and take some more off. It still seems a little high with the chairs I have.
