Rabbit Hunting

What is Rabbit Hunting?

Re: Rabbit Hunting

When you fold on the flop or turn, the hand is over, but people insist on seeing what the next card(s) is/are. Often times to see if they would've boated up or made their flush, etc. It's often times followed by a barrage of cursing. It's looked down upon by most, and don't even try it in a casino.

The occasional 21 dealer will on request sneak a peak at the next card after play is over if he/she is bored, wants to retain good relations with the civilians for toke reasons, etc. But yeah, it is against house policy if unlikely to cause much of a problem normally.

I'm almost positive that I saw a post by Howard Lederer that indicated that he rabbits hunts sometimes.

Yep, here it is:

Oh, BTW, P2 just called. Meaning he did have hand 2. But he made his low on the river and split with P1's 9's up. Of course, I had to rabbit hunt my card, and found that I would not have improved. Given their hands, I should have called, but I feel comfortable that I made the right play.

we have a guy that does this at our home game EVERYTIME someone folds to HIS bet.

He bets, they fold, he says, "Show the next card"

Like HE was the one on a draw... Drives you insane...
