Question for Microbob....(re Cruise)

Someone posted in another thread that you said you paid close to $6,000 in rake during your quest to win the cruise. Also, you broke even during that run. Are these numbers accurate?

Its hard to imagine paying 6k in rake in 1 week. However, it is a 12k package and Im sure you got back 25% of that rake. Strong work.

I'm sitting in for Bob, and yes, the numbers seem correct, and no, he got no rakeback when doing this.

Adde

(Bob, let me know where to send the invoice)

Thanks for sitting in adde.

I guess I missed this one.

I surfed for a little bit and went to bed and slept pretty hard after our little Tunica journey.

Yes, I finished -$100 for my 20k hands of 10/20 6-max which I count as breaking-even.
I think if I did it again I could do 1BB/100 or so.

Also paid around $6k in rake.

There were too many hands in there where I was surfing around on here...meanwhile I was betting strong or raising with my set or AA or something and then noticed the 4-flush or 4-straight on the board.

Pokertracker listed it as $2900 in rake but I'm not sure how that's calculated. Been told it's not the same as we would do it for rake-back.

I'm guessing $1.50 in rake per hand and an average of 5-players per table.
$0.30 per hand and 20k hands total = $6k.
This is probably reasonably close.

Even if I had an average of $0.50 in rake and played EVERY hand with 6 players:
$0.083/hd X 20k hands = $1666 in rake

And I KNOW I paid a lot more in rake than that.

I don't get rake-back at party....so it's possible that my affiliate there made a KILLING off of me (assuming he gets a % of my rake).

Obviously this marathon promotion is even more worthwhile for the player if you are at least going to be pulling in all that rake-back while you are accumulating the hands.

Just for informational purposes, that number is the amount that was raked out of pots that you won. You are correct in that this is not the number used for rakeback calculations, which is probably higher if you are tighter than the average mook.

Veering off post, the pokertracker method sounds like the best one to me. Why would I care how much rake was taken out of pots that I didn't win? I only truly pay rake when I win a pot.
