98s fizzling away

All right, I'm emerging from my post-surgery, blood-thinner induced haze to play some poker again. This hand bugged the hell out of me. Is there anything more I should have been doing here out of position? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Reads are pretty minimal. CO has been at the table about ten minutes, but has raised pre-flop at least 1/3 of his hands. He seems on the passive side postflop. I have about 40 hands on MP1, VPIP 41%, PFR2%. His postflop numbers are unreliable, both because of the small sample and because he seems relatively random postflop. I have seen him check down huge hands and raise on a gutshot draw.

Re: 98s fizzling away

I would 3-bet the flop and probably lead the turn if called since the K is a spade. The flop raise could mean you're outkicked or worse or it could just be a worse hand trying to push the pf raiser out or a flush draw.

I think check/call on the river is fine with either your line taken or a more aggressive line.
