John D\'agostino

Jesus Christ. He has to be the youngest player ever to compete 1500/3000 limit at Bellagio... What a friggin talent. 22 yrs old max and I would bet him to win... Ivey walked in around 5am so who knows what'll happen.

Re: John D\'agostino

Remember that Ivey beat him heads up to win the Turning Stone 10K buy in tourney last year (the tourney that was broadcast "live," trash hands and all, no editing, which is why I consider it to be among the best poker broadcasts ever)

I remember he had incredible instincts, and he even had Ivey all in as an underdog (77 vs A8). Phil hit his 8 and eventually went on to win. Look for him to continue to do great things in the future.

1500/3000K...It takes about a million dollar BR to play that comfortably.

That's 300+ BB if my math is right. Isn't that the standard?

The "standard" is a rule of thumb that is almost always wrong. Your bankroll depends on your edge relative to your competition, as well as your requirements to draw on your bankroll for living expenses. For example, you would need a higher bankroll if your expectation was 1/2BB per hour, than if it was 2 BB per hour. If your expectation is negative, then you need an infinite bankroll.

That's not even the big game. The big game is 4k/8k.
