Two no limit rule questions
 

Question 1:
If Player A bets 50 Player B calls and player C goes all in. How much does player C have to have raised for the betting to be reopened??

Question 2: is there ever any time where a player can turn his cards face up and his hand can still be considered live??

i believe that both of these rules vary from place to place.

a) Player C would usually have to have at least 75 to reopen betting i believe.

b) yes, at some casinos, but why would you want to?

For a raise to be action the raiser has to raise at least as much as the last bet or raise. Ie....$50 bet, at least a $50 raise.

As far as exposing cards.....remember a live game is NOT a tournament. I have exposed cards MANY times in a live game to try and get a reaction. The ruling (except for maybe a few places I don't know about) is completely different in a live game than in a tournament. I laugh when two players are allin in a live game and everyone tells them they must turn their cards face up. I'll turn my cards up if I want to and only at the end of the hand. So many people think tournament rules apply to live games. Television!

i got two different ansers for question A
and the anser to B is still unclear.

here is a clarification for B
if in a tournament two players are heads by the flop. player A goes all in
player B then flips his cards over in order to get a reaction out of player A

are player B's cards still live or did he fold

Hey.

East Coast, Indian Casino here...(FW):

If you expose your hand you violate the "protect your hand" rule
and the floor can rule the hand folded. This is one of those
questions that varies by not only the Room, but the mood of
the floor/dealer that night! I have seen it ruled both ways
AT THE SAME TABLE.

It always depends on the card room but...

1. It should be $50. That is the way NL is supposed to be played. I have heard about casinos that use the limit rule in which it would only have to be half of the bet. In this case $25. But 99% of all casinos should be $50.

2. Again, depends on the room. In a tourney I think they're still live here most times.

In a touranment you are still live, but you are subject to penalty.

This varies greatly. The best rule I have seen is that the hand is dead in a multi-way pot but live heads up.

I agree. I've personally used this rule to my advantage (knowing that i can do it before hand that is) to get a read on an opponent when they see my cards. 100% accuracy so far because they just dont see it coming and dont have time to try to control their reaction to it.
