WSOP and Hotel Rooms

Hello all! My wife and I are going with about ten other friends to Vegas in June. Now I'm looking forward to some of the cash games, and possibly a tourney (probably not though), but I was wondering if the hotels will be super expensive then. We originally planned on June because of the great deals available during the summer, but now I'm not so sure.

We want to stay on the strip and are looking at Monte Carlo, Bally's, Flamingo, and Treasure Island. Will there still be good rates on the strip even though the WSOP is going to be there the entire month? Should we try and book asap? Any help is appreciated.

The WSOP will make it difficult to get rooms at the Rio. But, it won't have a noticable impact elsewhere. Vegas has conventions that easily drawf the WSOP and the city has not had problems finding hotel rooms for everybody.

Search as many hotel web sites as you can.

At minimum search each hotels website. Even call them directly and see if they have a good rate.

Search expedia and travelocity.

Download travelaxe and search that often(a few times a week).

I'll be there the second weekend in June, which is around event 9-11 of the WSOP. We're staying at New York New York because that's where our friends wanted to stay. It didn't seem to be any more expensive than when I stayed there last year.
