NBA 1/28

YTD 27-15-1

1 & 2. Washington +5 (Orlando) and under 215 1/2

Let's start with the number (215 1/2). That's a Suns number. Neither of these teams is the Suns. In fact, Orlando's defense seems improved with the addition of defensive specialist Doug Christie. I see this game around 200-210 at most. And I see no reason to stop banging the Wizards. They may lose this game, but I think 5 is too many to give up. They are rolling. On the other hand, who has Orlando beaten by any significant margin since they beat Seattle more than 3 weeks ago? Hill is banged up every game. I don't see any significant match up advantages for Orlando other than PG, and I like Juan Dixon a great deal so I am not prepared to give ORL a huge edge there (and if you call Arenas the PG, there's no advantage to ORL at all). I will take 5 gladly and would not be surprised if WAS wins outright.

3 & 4. Phoenix -6 (@ Boston) and over 222 1/2

First off, Boston stinks. If this game was in Phoenix, and Phoenix was not in the middle of an east coast swing, they'd win by 30. But they are in the middle of a road trip, so I knock it down to 10. But they should still win handily. Boston's "improved" defense has not been that improved against any decent team. They shut down Charlotte. Woo hoo. They will take the bait and play Phoenix's run and gun style, because that's the style Ricky Davis and Paul Pierce prefer to play. I think this is going to be a wild game. A lot of points. Both teams might break 110, but PHX will be at 120 or maybe 130. At least I hope. Bet the over games over. This is an over game.

5. Jazz + 7 @ Minnesota

Minnesota is another team that doesn't seem to blow people away, unless you are Atlanta. Meanwhile I continue to think that, with Kirilenko back and beginning to play meaningful minutes, Utah will resort back to where they were at the beginning of the season, when they started off great. I don't think Utah will win this game, but they will be in it down the stretch and should be able to stay within 7.

I'll give you a similar response to those posting multiple NBA picks, you will be VERY lucky to get 2 of these and do not be surprised if you are 0-5! I have been at this a long long time, the NBA is rigged, do not question that if you want to keep your sanity and more importanly your bankroll.
