National Geographics\'s Most Amazing Moments

This is some really amazing photography. If you like stuff like giant hornets attacking a beehive (and who doesn't?), I highly recommend it. I Tivoed it the other day off of NGC, I assume they will repeat it.

Great.

Have you got a link so we can look at some of the photos?

Those hornets attacking the honey bees is online somewhere. It's insane, like 10 hornets take out 1,000 honey bees.

Does anyone have a link to this video? I would love to see it.

wow!

Bees, other hornet species, and larger insects such as praying mantises are no match for the giant hornets, which often stalk their prey in relentless armies. Just one of these hornets can kill 40 European honeybees a minute; a handful of the creatures can slaughter 30,000 European honeybees within hours, leaving a trail of severed insect heads and limbs.

Japs are nutz.

The largest hornet in the world, the aggressive black-and-yellow giant hornet is both feared and revered in Japan. The ingredients of its powerful venom are contained in a popular sports drink touted as a performance booster.

Holy crap! 30 against 30,000? The European Bees need a hero, like the William Wallace of bees.

I'm allergic to bees. If I see one around the house I go into Rambo mode. That video made even me feel sorry for those poor buggers.
