Bubble Mistake?

I have K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in the BB with 4 players left in a $30+3. There is one big stack, and the other 3 of us are oscillating arount T1500 with the BB at T300. The button pushes and he has me covered by ~T200. The table in general has been pretty tight, not a ton of stealing, so I'm guessing that the button has some kind of decent hand. I call. Is this a mistake?

I think calling here is a mistake.

I think it's a mistake because while your hand looks nice, it is easily dominated. While I would happily open push from the button with this hand, I don't want to call a push from the button that has me covered with this hand.

The table has been tight, so you should be able to steal that blind money back with a reasonable degree of certainty and wait to call someone else's hand with a much stronger holding or when they are much more desparate to make a play for the blinds.

I look forward to hearing other people's responses though.

If I put the button on a hand then I fold.I would rather be the one pushing with K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] instead of calling a push.

I agree, you've got 5x BB with 3 close competitors. Still some time to work. If you were 3x BB, I'd do it, but like the other two, I'd rather be the one going all in first rather than the one calling off all my chips.

That's the rational answer. In reality, I think we'd all be tempted to go for it. So don't feel too bad if you do.
