2+2 table hand.. i misplayed.. how should i have played it?

Villian was tighter than the average trout here. The LRR was for kicks..

what'd you do, try and check/raise?

the problem was more along the lines of "misplayed on every street"

raise preflop, he 3-bets, you cap. you lead the turn is the line i prefer. him being a trout, he probably put you on a high pocket pair as soon as you limp-reraised so his preflop cap is pretty scary.

do you mean lead the flop? what do you do when raised? i'm looking for the full postflop line here.

anyone else? given the line you choose, how do you then adjust it if an Ace drops on the turn.

I would bet the flop and reraise if he raise. If he cap then it is bad and if he really is very tight then I probably will fold. The 2+2 can be so damm tricky that only a raise do not have to mean so much and the flop is cheap.

When the Ace hit then I probably would write "I will call you down your litel piece of /%¤#¤%". If he then bet then I fold...

Hey BT,
I don't remember that hand, so my advice won't be tainted by what actually occurred. My line would be bet/call, c/c, c/f, before the A on the turn. When the A falls, I get a little crazy and pull the old s-n-g out the bag of tricks. If he raises, I fold, if he folds, woohoo, if he calls, then either I lead the river or I don't .

Re: 2+2 table hand.. i misplayed.. how should i have played it?

i can see the turn/river cc/cf line if he'll take a free showdown with AK. the bet/raise line on the flop has me worried that by showing weakness early he'll be more inclined to bet the river.. why not just cc/cc/bet-fold? it costs 1 SB more, but feels safer.

the pot is so big for a HU hand that AK feels alright about seeing the river.

what do you think about these possible lines:
check-raise the flop, fold to a 3-bet (if the 3-bet is reliably a non-AK hand).

or:
check-call the flop
bet-fold the turn* (if he calls, bet-fold or check-fold the river?)

* if the Ace comes, bet-fold as well.
* if a King comes, check-fold.

my default line is to throw my mouse at the wall, and hope the pointer is over "fold" as it crashes.

seriously, w/o a good read, I grimace and check/call, check/call.

If I know he's predictable and will only cap with AA, AK, KK, or QQ, then that's a different story.

I check call it to the river, and bet the river if he checks it through on the turn.

I don't know what to do if he checks behind on the flop. but I suspect that will only happen close to 1% of the time anyway.

EDIT: Like to add: I check fold to an Ace
