CO, B&M why those names?

I know the CO has been discussed before and I know it's one off the button and that it stands for CutOff.

What I am curios about is why that position has its own name and why the name is cutoff.
Does it have something to do with that it's the first position to attempt blindstealing from?
Please, enlight me.

Second question, what is B&M? Figure it has something to do with playing live, but why B&M?

B&M = Brick & Mortar

CO gets its own name because...it just does.

I'd always guessed it had something to do with the cut off "cutting off" or preempting the button's steal attempt by doing it himself, but that's just my speculation.

There's a response to the CO question at the end of this thread which no-one has yet seen fit to query.

Thanks sheriff, seems like a reasonable explanation!
