Party 3/6: Being checkraised by a LAG when an ace turns...

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed)

At the time, my opponent had only been at the table for approx. 20 hands, but he already was displaying LAG tendencies. My turn decision was likely influenced by my realization that I've been calling down too many turn raises/checkraises heads-up with less than TP.

Preflop: chesspain is CO with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
4 folds, MP3 raises, chesspain 3-bets, 3 folds, MP3 calls.

Flop: (7.33 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP3 checks, chesspain bets, MP3 calls.

Turn: (4.66 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP3 checks, chesspain bets, MP3 raises, chesspain folds.

Is this a good bet-fold? If not, what should my plan have been once this ace fell?

I think it is a good fold. A LAG would certainly play any A and a broadway (and real LAGy will play any Ax) the same way. Heck, I think I might have taken his line with AQo if I read you for normal 3 bet hands.

After the turn, you could only have one of two mostly like 3 bet hands that beat me AA, QQ. Both of which I also think you cap preflop, so if I had AQo after the turn I pull the same C/R. Though if I had AQo I would have bet the flop.

Does my line make sense?

Looks fine to me, except for the pre-flop action. Why are you reraising with 88?

to isolate a lag with a good hand.

Sometimes it might be okay to call and fold the river. I highly doubt you are still ahead, but sometimes people take shots at you just to see if you really have something. I'd usually fold this.

I think you played the hand well.

I think you made the right play given your Turn bet - but the question remains, how often will a LAG c/r bluff an overcard? I've seen it happen enough times to at least consider the possibility when betting myself.
Is checking through on the Turn an option here?
