Downswing blues (no hand, just need confidence boost)

location: party 15
hands: 6900
BB w/l: -161

So i know this is a just a somewhat typical downswing. i also am confident i can beat the 15, i have seen enough whacked out raises and calls to smell the benjamins. this is just my worst downswing ever, so i guess what i am looking for is some reassurance that this is somewhat normal and i have not forgot how to play poker

fwiw, i have tightened up a good amount and only have a VPIP of 15%.

Laugh and wonder how much i lose playing poker.

Here are my stats for B&M this year:
Average BB: 12.88
Hours played: 311.3
Total Profit: 7816
BB/hr: 1.95
$/hr: 25.11

If i can do this, you will be winningagain soon.

just because youre on a downswing doesnt mean you should be tightening up to 15%. get yourself back to 19 and then i can give you some reassurance.

i havent tightened up because i have been on a downswing. i tightened up beacuse the game is so aggressive i dont play speculative hands up front.

Why? Do you honestly think that it's not possible to win without a VP$IP of less than 19%?

should i change the name of the post to:

"Hi my name is _________, and like sublime have had streaks of -160BB's and worse at the party 15, i would like to add that he will be fine"

kevin, his vpip is at 15%, not above 19%. of course he can win with a vpip above or below 19%, but i dont feel comfortable reassuring him of being a winning player if his vpip is not on par with other winning players in this forum.

Re: Downswing blues (no hand, just need confidence boost)

But there are winning players (doing quite well), with a vpip LOWER than 15%. Personally, I think too much is made of vpip. Playing too many hands can certainly make you a loser... Not playing enough hands, can keep you from winning what you should... But rarely will playing too tightly before the flop turn anyone into a loser unless they are being ridiculous. I do believe playing too tightly AFTER the flop can turn you into a loser however. IMO-
