Lost on the River to FOUR better hands

I'm trying to be a tight-aggressive player - am I too aggressive here?

$.10/$.20 Game - 9 Players
Hero has Middle Position with 8c-9c

BTF: 7 Callers - BB raises - 6 call raise.

FLOP; (15SB) (Js-Tc-Ah) SB and BB check. l bet. Hero
raises (OESD/BD Flush) - 4 Callers.

TURN: (l2.5BB) (8d) BB checks - Hero Bets - 4 Call.
[b]Should I check-raise here with OESD/Pair 8's

RIVER: (17.5BB) (4d) Everybody checks. Hero has Pair 8's. Other four players have higher pairs - AA, etc.)

With the fair-sized pot and my OESD, I felt I bet correctly. Right or Wrong?

if you hit your queen for the "OESD", anyone with a single king beats you, so you really don't have an OESD. You only should count the bottom end of it (the four 7's). So, basically it's a 4 outer for the straight + 1.5 for the backdoor flush. On the turn, you might be able to add 2 outs to that for the remaining 8's, but you also lose the flush outs.

Your flop raise may push out single kings, but I think if the other card paired, they are staying in for 2 cold.

With that many callers pre-flop and on the flop, your pair of 8's is almost certainly not the best hand. I would consider myself still drawing to the bottom end of your "OESD" and for trips 8s. I believe a 2-pair would create a very coordinated board, so I wouldn't count it. I would assess this as 6 outs.

Thanks, zephed56 and TheHybrid144, for your replies. I can see that I have much to learn about figuring outs. I should have at least thought of the danger of the single King.
