My first real downswing (family pot)

I was finally hit with a real downswing tonight. I hadn't been receiving any playable hands all session, and I tried to stay tight, but I seemed to lose big whenever I played. The details of this might not be perfectly accurate.

Pacific Poker $0.10/0.20 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
Everyone calls.
Should I have raised here? I know KJo isn't the strongest hand against so many callers, but raising wouldn't have reduced the field.

Flop: (10 SB) J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (10 players)
SB checks, BB bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls,, MP2 raises, MP3 calls, CO raises, Hero raises, SB folds, BB folds, UTC calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO calls.
Too aggressive? There were numerous draw possiblities, and I was betting with what was likely the best hand (am I wrong to think that?)

Turn: (17 BB) 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
UTG checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, CO bets, Hero raises, UTG calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls.
Again, is this too aggressive? Same line of thinking as on the flop.

River: (27 BB) 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
UTG bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO raises, Hero folds, UTG calls all-in, MP1 calls, MP2 calls
I would have called down the UTG bet knowing I was beat, but I didn't think it was worth it against a raise.

Final Pot: ~34 BB between UTG, MP1, MP2, CO.

Result:
CO wins ~34 BB with T9o.

I play the same to the river.
On the river, if you think you win once in 15 you have to call. At micro I probably do; you might be up against KJ, QJ, JT, Ace high busted flush draw, A8, A4 etc.

The pot is huge, for even 2 bets you have to call with TPGK

I fold my TP when facing 3 bets. There aint no way you are good now. And your hand will take a lot to improve. Your odds are shot when facing 3 bets btw.

You fold on the flop then?

i hate offsuit hands in these games.. i almost want to fold preflop and just stick with bigger cards, PP's, and suited cards

i don't think hero's line was too bad if capped flops are typical on this table.. say raises/3bets with JT. he put in 2 BB's on the flop in a 17 BB flop.. that's 15:2 on his money. the combination of his current pot equity and his chances to improve to two pair seem worth it. you won't win this pot often, but putting in 1/6 - 1/5 of the money on the flop isn't too much.

the turn raise is good and the river fold is fine. the only other time to fold is on the flop of course.

Just with all that flop action you cannot think improving to two pair is even good if someone has a set.

that's why i threw in the ultra cheap "if capped flops are typical" disclaimer

i want to fold, but you are getting tons of odds and this is nickel/dime poker. people may 3-bet with JT here.. table reads are key.

i said fold in the poll that duplicated this situation, but at .50/1.00.

I think your play here is good. I would play exactly same.
