I don\'t understand these limit structures. What does this mean?

Ok, this is probably a really stupid question. I have been primarily an online player of the last few years but am getting ready to move to Henderson NV.
So I am looking around the "internets" (GWB dig) at a good brick and mortar to play limit hold em in the $1/2 or 2/4 range. Most of the rooms spread a game that looks like this.

$ 1 - 4 - 8, $1 - 8 Hold'em.

$ 1-4, 8, 8, 6-12 and 10-20 Texas Hold'em

$1,4, 8, 8, Texas Hold'em.

This is not making sense to me. How is this diffrent from the standard $1/2 or 2/4 or 3/6 or 5/10 etc. games played online? Can someone help me out here?

This is the site I am refering to.
http://www.lasvegasvisitor.com/pokerrooms.htm

Where can I find a nice loose $1/2 limit game?

Thanks!

The only $1/$2 limit game in the entire city that I know of is at the Luxor. The Excalibur spreads $1-$3 and $2-$6 (see below).

Limits:

Typically, $1-$X is a spread limit game, meaning you can bet from $1-$X dollars at any time. $X-$Y-$Z means $X before the flop, $X on the flop, $Y on the turn and $Z on the river. The same formula applies for $X-$Y-$Z-$Z. Some $X-$Y-$Z-$Z structures play like spread-limit in the first round.

Yea, for those limits you will be playing Luxor 1/2 or Excalibur 1-3 spread limit. Both rooms are pretty easy to get to from the Henderson area...

Just to clarify what SpaceAce (correctly) said:

A 4-8 game is what you're used to (fixed bets of 4 pre-flop/flop and 8 turn/river).

A 4-8-12 game is also fixed limits, with 4 pre-flop/flop, 8 turn, and 12 river.

A 1-4 game is a spread limit game, with bets from 1-4 on all rounds.

A 1-4-8-8 or a 1-4-8 game is a spread limit game, with bets from 1-4 pre-flop/flop and 1-8 turn/river.
