i\'m supposed to 3-bet this river, right?

MP and Button are the reasons I'm sitting at the table. feel free to critique the flop play if you feel raising is better against this type of opponent, but i'm mainly interested in the river.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG posts a blind of $5.
MP calls, Button calls, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG (poster) folds, MP calls, Button calls.

Flop: (7.40 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP checks, Button bets, Hero calls, MP calls.

Turn: (5.20 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP bets, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, MP calls, Button calls.

River: (14.20 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP bets, Button raises, Hero calls, MP calls.

Final Pot: 20.20 BB

Yeah, 3-bet. Especially with the 4-bet cap. You're only risking 2 bets to gain at least 2, probably more. The only hand that beats you is a 2, and they will even cap with less than that.

Yes cap the river, the flop play is fine, a rare example of acceptable slowplaying.

If he hadn't raised pre-flop I'd agree, but I'm guessing he could get in a raise and they'd think he's just following through.

I want MP to call so there is a greater chance that someone will hit some garbage hand on the turn.

Ugh, even my posting is subject to slight tilt. I didn't even notice the overcaller

if it makes you feel better about your analysis, MP mucked 55. "Button" showed AA and MHIG. (the positions are clearly wrong from the hand converter, as i was last to act every round.)

I disagree with the other posters here, I feel it's better to call to obtain an overcall from the MP without the risk of being reraised by quads. Calling gets you 1 extra bet while 3-betting probably gets you an 1 extra bet too with the added risk of being 4-bet.
