NL 10/20 Online Hand

In the wee hours of the morning, 3 gamblers, 3 nut peddlers, 3 tough euros and me. Not too involved thus far.

I'm dealt 7h7d. UTG calls. MP1 calls. I call. CO calls. SB completes and BB checks. 6 see the flop with 117 in pot.

Flop is 7cAsKs. Checked to me. I bet 100. All fold to SB, who calls. BB folds. 2 see the turn with 317 in pot. (SB and I each have about 2000. SB is TAG).

Turn is 5s. SB bets 240. I fold. Comments???

you should have a lot of money left for the river, got to call here and boat up, right?

Why no raise preflop?... Why fold on the turn you got the implied pot odds to make a call here in hopes the board pairs, just a bad way to play this hand

I didn't like my play at all here. First of all, I have the lowest VP$IP percentage at table, and I think the TAGs are being encouraged to bluff against me when any scare card hits.

On the turn, he's representing the flush. I'm about 3.5 to 1 against boating up. The pot is offering me 2.3 to 1 odds. As far as my implied odds, If he's bluffing they are nil, if he has a flush, he will call a decent bet on the end.

I'm more or less convinced i played that wrong. Anybody like the fold there?

Over the past year after switching to primarily NL (still some party 15 to change the pace), I've been essentially "near nut peddling" to build my roll and cash out pretty good. The only problem i run into is, I think, getting run over by TAGs.

I'm getting to the point however, where I'm basically BR'ed for any game out there (minus the 25/50), so I have very little excuse anymore for my biatch-ass ways.

Sounds like your logic is off here. If he will bet without a flush you don't need implied odds in that situation because you have the best hand.

Assuming you make a 400 dollar value bet on the end when you fill and he gives up when he's bluffing:

<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
P(bluff) EV(call)
0.4 242.0272727
0.3 189.5318182
0.2 137.0363636
0.1 84.54090909
0 32.04545455

</pre><hr />

Although this assumes he's drawing dead where he could easily be semibluffing so your calls aren't worth quite that much.

Ya, you have pretty good implied odds even if you are behind and additionally you seem to think there's a decent chance you're ahead anyway, which makes the call even easier. It does put you in sort of a tough spot, though, if the river bricks and he decides to throw out another big bet with nothing.
