The mysterious 11.5 gram clay chip
 

This is just a message relay

In talking with a manufacturer and Company informant that deals directly with a major tv poker show, this is some information that I was given about the chips that are on the market. See what you guys think

Casinos use a 9-10.5 gram chip that is made of clay.
11.5 gram chips that have flooded the market and the home poker world are all ABS material with a metal insert into them.

And people that say that they sell 11.5 gram clay composite chips are not actually selling clay. I was told that you can not put metal into the clay chip, it would not work. Further more the only clay chips on the market are the 9 and 10 gram range, not the 11.5 and chips that are 13.5 grams and up.

Bascially the 13.5 gram chips have clay, plastic, and metal in them or its just clay and plastic, cant remember exactly what he said on that.

If anyone else has any insight on this is feels this is completely wrong or has the right answer, reply back.

I say this b/c i see everyone on ebay saying they have clay or clay composite when in reality none of then are selling 11.5 gram clay chips

Everything I see in that message is true to my knowledge. I've always wondered how the sites that sell the plastic chips can be allowed to use the word "clay" in the description, but who's gonna do anything about it?

Ten, lemme know if you have heard this. There is actually only one guy that has the actual patent right to the metal chip insert but there are still other companies making these chips. The company Imagine It Poker Concept who actually supplies Celebrity Poker Showdown is the only company that deals with the manufacturer that supplies these chips. So basically a patent case is going to be brought up against a bunch of these companies, not sure about all the details though.

Nope, I haven't heard that. I haven't looked closely, but I though that Chipco made the Celebrity Poker Showdown chips since they make all the Palms chips.

You're correct in that the common 11.5g composite chip is a plastic composite, not a clay composite like it is called. However, I have encountered 11.5g chips that looked identical to the common composites but feel sticker and more rubbery, like a clay chip. I think this chip is the one that should be called "clay composite" while the regular one should just be called "composite". Anyways, that's the only clay/clay composite chip I know of with a metal insert.

well the only thing u can consider clay composite is the 13 gram chips and above that actually have clay, abs, and the metal insert all together.

thats how they get them to 13.5 grams, by adding the clay to the 11.5 gram chip.

I dont think anything is going to change the way people list these chips on websites & Ebay. In order to bring these companies or individuals up on Patent infrigements it takes big Dollars. They only companies that could possible pull this off dont even sell to the public. So unless these chips start showing up in Casinos I dont think anyone will spend the money to stop these chinese made chips from being sold over the internet... My Opinion..

I thought CPS used Chipco chips too, but if you look closely at their broadcasts, they have what seem to be graphics of Chipco chips that say celebrity poker showdown on them but the chips they are using look kind of different/shitty.

I think that the reason they say clay is because they are not REALLY lying. I will demonstrate below.

Technically I didn't say anything that doesn't apply to the 13.5 plastic chips, although I understand that some sites simply lie outright.
