Abbreviations

Howdy. I've read several books, but I'm not acquainted with many of the abbreviations that are used in some of the forums I've looked at... "VP$IP", "W$SD", etc etc. I looked for a FAQ about this, and there isn't one. Perhaps there should be......

Re: Abbreviations

"VP$IP" = Voluntarily Put Money in the Pot (i.e. saw the paid to see the flop - aside from the big blind)

"W$SD" = Won Money at the Show Down (i.e. Those times that you go all the way to the show down, this is the percentage of time you win the pot).

Corrrect me if I'm wrong ...

Re: Abbreviations

"VP$IP" also includes the times when you raise or call a raise from big blind. Right?

Doubleplus, you may want to check out poker tracker because the two abbreviations are from that software, AFAIK. Just goto pokertracker.com and you can download the demo version.

Re: Abbreviations

Philip, VP$IP is as said by ?? Voluntarily Put $ In Pot, which would be to call the blinds. But I need to do some more research as you have me thinking. Does calling/raising fall in this category after the flop. I'm not sure.

Re: Abbreviations

Yes, calling a raise from a blind is still "*voluntarily* putting money in the pot."

So to is coming in raising from any other position.
