2+2 Book Club Poll

Here's some questions I had for the 2+2 Book Club. Your feedback on these questions would be very much appreciated. As far as the book selection goes I suggest we follow with WLLH for the benefit of those in the group who are newer players, unless there is overwhelming support for SSHE or another book.

I think ITH would be a good next choice. New players could reasonably follow and it contains quite a bit of intermediate/advanced ideas scattered about. I think the hand examples really make the book shine for new players.

I would suggest Miller's book. As many have either just read it recently, or are currently reading it, the material is fresh in players' minds. As well, from reading some of the posts from players who are not experiencing success after reading it, or are misunderstanding/misapplying some of the concepts, I think this book would be the logical choice.

The only problem with that I see is that there are so many beginning players doing this with us that a book like WLLH or ITH would be the much better next choice for them, and if we do SSHE we kinda leave them out in the cold because most of them wouldn't be ready for SSHE as it is supposed to be for experienced players.

You are probably right, but how much more advanced is this than TOP?

Cant say for sure, but a lot of the people were just reading TOP for their first time.

Second that.

Another idea would be to do the entire Clarkmeister rotation.

another vote for ITH. I'm just finishing it (my 1st poker book), and want to take another pass at it. If not ITH, then I'd prefer WLLH as a 2nd choice.

I read WLLH, started HPFAP & TOP when I got SSH. Dropped back to ITH and am finding it to be a good choice for me with my limited experience. Where TOP brings stong concepts to beginners, ITH seems to go into more extensive examples amplifying the concepts in a more hands on approach. ITH would be my choice for the next book.
