Gap concept vs 1/3+ stack size rule(Tournament situation)

You have T1000, you pay the BB of T450 holding K10, the CO raises, the button goes all-in, SB calls, your move?

Depends on how close to the money you are, but I'd have raised all-in to begin with.

As far as I know it really doesnt matter how much near the money it is. If you win now you have a resonable chance of a top $$ finish, if you fold you will get your buyin back, but I'm open to other opinions.

Ouch. Tough call, but I think I fold here in this spot. You're an underdog to just about any hand that these people could have, especially with the call. You're going to pay the SB on the next hand and then get some free hands to find some cards where no one has shown strength yet.

With 45% of your stack, your raise in the SB would be only be a raise of 100 over the 450 BB, hardly anything to push anyone off a hand. If you wait until after you post the SB, you won't even be able to call the BB. I think you're beat no matter what here, may as well take the best odds you're probably going to get and push here.

I'd have pushed much sooner, though, usually around 10x BB or less I'll look to get all my chips in the middle, but that's me.

If you fold here you will need to get exremely lucky and double up a few times to get back in it. If you put all your chips in here you will still need to get lucky but only once though. You could more than triple up right here. It should never come to this point though. <10x the BB and I am going all in or nothing. And I will go all in with any 2 in the right situations too. You can't just wait for good cards to come all the time.
