Free-Roll Hand Analysis, New to the Forum.
 

I know these type of games aren't packed with the best out there but if I at least play my game I should get some good practice at a cheap price....anyway, just played this hand and wanted to know if this was the right move? Thanks.

UTG folds, UTG+1 calls t20, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO calls t20, <font color="CC3333">Button raises to t80</font>, SB (poster) folds, m8t"Hero calls t60, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 raises to t200</font>, CO folds, Button calls t120, Hero calls t120.

Flop: (t630) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">Hero bets t1330</font>, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 raises to t1480 (All-In)</font>, Button calls t1090 (All-In).

I figured UTG+1 for an AA or KK but figure my set is pretty strong and CO I had figured for 2 over cards, definitely not a pair, otherwise I'd figure he'd play 'em stonger, even though it's way early.

Based on what I've read though, If I put him on AA or KK, then I never should've called the re-raise huh?

The general rule with low pocket pairs is to never try to commit over %10 of your stack preflop. Although you exceeded that percent you are getting very juicy implied odds if you hit in that big multiway pot.

this is exactly the wrong way to think about it.

If you have a small pocket pair, you would prefer your opponent have AA or KK rather than two big cards. This assumes you are not calling off a large portion of your stack preflop. &lt;10% is the general rule of thumb. Against multiple opponents, a little more than 10% is okay, but probably not more than 15%.
Your implied odds go through the roof if you opponent has AA/KK because he will have a hard time getting money out of you unless you have him beat...conversely, you will be able to extract the maximum when you are ahead since it's tough for someone to drop an overpair on the flop.

I disagree. You have a low PP in the BB, it is checked around to you... you should by all means take the free look at the flop. Pocket pairs are overvalued in this game. I would only make your play with a PP 10 or higher.
