Swings in Loose Game Low Limit Omaha Hi/Lo

I would like to here anecdotal evidence as to what a typical bad session is, good session is, losing streak is, etc. I have been restricting myself to a 30BB loss per session since that is what I did with limit holdem.

I find that when I am down 30BB some better players have moved in or I am just playing too loose when playing online or in a not quite so good game. When playing in a brick and mortar at low limit there will often be capping on all or most of the streets so one lost hand could be a 10 BB loss. I often see players either down or up 30 BB in an hour.

I am psychologically attached to the 30 BB loss limit because it helps me feel in control of my losses and I can sleep afterwards, but I don't want to put a straightjacket on myself.

My "typical" bad session is break-even. But I did go through two buy-ins in one day.

I am still on a 2-week run on not winning very often.

Are you playing on the net or in a casino? The texture of the game has a lot to do with it, I play on the 'net and they are mostly passive games, so going through a buy-in is lot.

I play low limits on UB and in a casino. The live casino players are much more aggressive.

I don't know if this will help but these are my own calculated SDs from online play (in BB/hr):

0.25/0.50 11.18 (over 137 hours)
0.50/1.00 11.10 (over 187 hours)
1.00/2.00 10.68 (over 46 hours)
2.00/4.00 11.08 (over 175 hours)

This is a little less per hour (but I would guess quite a bit more per hand) than I have experienced at holdem.

In that time I have had +32BB, -32BB, +34BB, +35BB, +36BB and +40BB sessions but nothing else more than 30BB from breakeven (although quite a few wins and losses of 20 to 30 BB).

Where the heck are you playing where you can maintain over $40/hr at 2/4. I don't doubt you but this seems unusually high.

Er, these are standard deviations, not win rates (unfortunately).
