Spewing chips

My read on MP is that he's tight and very aggressive. A good player. I'm wondering if this is a losing play in the long run or if it's profitable against the right type of player. I tried it twice against different but similar opponents and went 1-1.

Absolute 3/6

I raise red QQ UTG, MP 3-bets, all fold, I call. I cap this 95% of the time, but didn't against this opponent.

Flop AKT rainbow. I check, he bets, I CR. He pauses and calls.

Turn A. I bet, he folds.

I think my play was inconsistent at best. If I put him on an underpair I should cap preflop. I didn't cap, which means I must think he has an overpair or something like AK. I would have folded to either a flop reraise or a turn raise.
