AC questions

2 things, i just turned 21 and i'm gonna be in AC within a wek or two....

A) 2+2 has a massive amount of LA people NYC people and vegas people, but almost no AC "locals" just people that live in jersey or ny that go there a lot. why?

B) i play 8 tables of 10/20 six max as my typical game, i bet it for a pretty solid rate, and occasionally mix in games up to 30/60, i feel pretty confident that i'd be fine at 40/80. thoughts?

that is all.

Re: AC questions

As long as you're fine with potentially dropping 4k, I don't see a problem playing 40-80 if you're beating the online games handily. It's a very good game. If this is your first time playing live, you may want to start lower just to get used to it before jumping into the 40 game later.

As for why people don't live in AC, generally AC is a much crappier town to live in than LA w/ nothing to do besides poker (though they are improving this with new bars and nightlife, etc). That said, I could see living in AC, but I could also see playing poker seven days a week. That's me though lol.

Re: AC questions

yeah i've played pleanty live in nyc places, and a couple times in AC but i was under 21.

NYC has no limit games really, and i always dicked around at 6/12 in AC cause i didn't want to get carded. Meh, i'm not living off my bankroll i can handle the variance, just sorta wondering what it was comprable to on avergae. The couple times i've watched from the rail the pf play was so bad that i figured i'd wreck the game.

Re: AC questions

In the summer it's a fun place to be because the casinos are right on the boardwalk, which is right on the ocean. And they have newer clubs and bikini beach bars and stuff.

In the winter it can get pretty quiet though, because the year-round shore population is generally older. So I guess to answer your question, it's fairly easy to live somewhere else with more of a lively population year round. For instance, you can get to AC from Philly in about 40 minutes.

While you are in AC, take a walk away from the casinos for a few blocks and then come back and ask that question again...
