Even worse, about 6 months or so ago, my mom came out and flat out told me that my dad was having an affair with his secretary.

Re: Is my dad cheating on my mom?

Because my parents have had a lousy marriage for a long time, and I guess it didn't really surprise me that much, considering how emotional my mom gets (I probably subconsciously knew for a while).

I'm asking if my dad is cheating on my mom now, not in the past.

Obviously, my mom broke it up when she found out.

And no, my dad's not Christmas shopping. He's never surprised me for Christmas, plus, this year, I don't want for anything (changes when I go to college).

why didn't you ask your mom WTF is going on and how you're expected to deal with it, when she told you the news ?

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed.

Similarly, if this was all that distessing I imagine you would've made a post about this..well..6 months ago. Must be something else you're worried about.

Talk to both parents independently. tell them that you are on a thin string and likely to commit suicide if they were ever to break up.

Nothing is better for you than keeping two people together and screwing up their lives for your benefit, and you may get some gifts from it.

Finally the obvious. And learn to tell a [censored] story. Reading this, I had no idea what the hell you wwere talking about.

Why the hell would your mom tell you that anyway? That's pretty messed up.

wait i don't really understand your story. so your dad wakes you up an hour earlier than normal to go out to lunch , and then at some point you want to stay in the car (where are you now?) and listen to music ? but he makes you go to the library ? what is he suppose to be doing while you're the library / what is suppose to be happening while you listened to music in the car ? is going to the library something you do normally , or is him making you to go the library very unusual ?

i feel like you forgot to include an important part of the story.

He forgot the part of his story where his dad picks him up at the library, smelling of snatch.

[censored] situation. i was in the same when i was in high school (and beyond).

theres really nothing you can do. you gotta let them live how they want. however, you shouldnt let your dad jerk you around and hide you certain places like the library.

also, it really sucks if you have to become an intermediary betweend the 2. started to happen to me and when i realized it i flat said im not discussing your relationship anymore.

so, to be more clear, do your best to stay completely out of it and you may have to stand up for yourself some to do this.
