AQ out of position facing caller

Hi, this was played on absolute so I had no PT reads, had just sat down, and no HH.

I get dealt AQo in MP
I raise the 25c bb to $1.75
1 caller from CO
Flop comes Ac Th 5h [$4 pot]
I bet $4, CO calls
Turn comes [3c] [$12 pot]
CO has $14 left, I put him allin, is this standard?

yeah sure. new table. if you want to get that LAG image going...

or.. your just bet half his stack and let him push..

or.. you can commit him by betting 1/3 his stack then push turn.

Actually, maybe this is a bad beat post in disguise. He called with AK and my AQ was no good.

Basically what I'm asking is if you are in first position with TPGK, can you do anything to avoid your whole stack going away? Or do you basically put your whole stack on the line when he is cold calling due to the fact he could have a lower ace, or a flush draw in my example.

I don't think posting my results prejudices answers here, because it's a more basic situation of not losing your stack when you are in EP with TPGK facing plain old calls.

If he failed to reraise you with AK, I think he made a mistake. PF, he should have gotten some information with a reraise. Sounds like you found a mousy player who got to get paid. Most of the time you'll be banking.
