River c/raise

PP 20/40, the table has gone 4-handed temporarily. My image may be a bit LAG.

Folded to a tight, decent player who raises OTB. SB folds and I call with black 55. Flop is 5xx, two hearts. I lead, he raises, I 3-bet he calls. Turn is a heart rag. I lead he raises. I call. River is a blank. I c/raise.

Yes?

Incredibly standard or incredibly dumb?

Re: River c/raise

If he's tight and decent and splashing hard on an innocuous board after raising preflop, it screams overpair (esp. when he just calls the flop 3-bet and raises the turn). He has a hand he will bet probably bet on the river again so by all means go for a checkraise.

3-betting the turn is another option as well. Know your opponent, but it seems like your line is reasonable. If the river went check-check and he had AK, oh well. He would have prob folded to a turn reraise anyway and by checking the end, you get two bets a lot of the time w/ how this hand went down.

OK thanks. That's how i thought about the hand as well. Just wanted some confirmation from better players.

if your image is LAG then you could re-raise on turn and then lead or C/R on river.

Why not three bet the turn? It's heads up. I think river check raises are [censored] lame.
