1.34 miles by car, probably more on the order of a mile by foot. If you're suggesting I walk in this weather when I don't have to, you're nuts.

What weather? It was like 30 degrees out this morning.

What do you do when it actually gets cold?

Edit to note taht it's 25 in NY right now and it was 22 a little while ago.

Thinking 30 degrees isn't cold is not normal. What did you wear when you left your house today?

My wife and I walked from 8th and broadway over to 6th Avenue.

We started walking north until we were able to get in (separate) cabs making the north run along 6th.

I actually got into work earlier today but it was a bit of a pain. Still, I am quite happy given that I fully expected to have to walk 47 block in the cold.

I am a little nervous about being so lucky on the way back tonight.

Good luck everyone.

Jeans, sweater, t-shirt, boxers, socks, walking shoes, winter coat, scarf, gloves. It was cold but not unbearable.

Of course it's not unbearable. I'm going to walk to school in a couple hours and I won't be complaining, but it will be cold. If I was going to SoHo I would take a subway if I could.

1 pair socks
1 pair shoes
1 pair slacks
1 pair underwear
1 undershit
1 button down shirt
1 scarf
1 leather jacket

And I kinda wished I had a longer ways to walk this morning...probably one of the nicest days we'll have all winter.

And that's exactly my point. Sure it's cold outside. But to take the car out to go a mile, as opposed to a 15 minute walk accomopanied by the comment of "If you're suggesting I walk in this weather when I don't have to, you're nuts." is pretty sad.
