Rare Aggression

We have been playing 3 handed for maybe 2-3 orbits. It was 5 handed, and it broke donw to us 3. Button has never missed a beat in raising pf in these 2-3 orbits. Button seems to be LAG postflop, not completely stupid tho. My best guess is he is something like 40/25 in 6 max. SB I have no more than 50 hands on, but his vpip in 6 max is only 17. He continuation bets a lot if he has control of the hand, otherwise seems to be passive.

what?

EDIT: I can't see any benefit to this. if you want to take the pot, the board isn't scary enough IMO and we dont have enough behind us if he does call. I usually like to wait for some outs to do this. if you want to build an image, assuming this guy is paying attention, I'd rather do it be showing down good cards. here you might not even make it to showdown. because lets face it, we're missing the flop most of the time - so I'd rather be taking it down on the turn with those hands or giving myself the option to raise the turn or check the river for a free showdown, rather than having people think I play anything.

how often do other people do stuff like this?

also, I basically never defend this, but I'd be more inclined to play if SB folded rather than called. I understand the "but then button will know I have something cause I'm raising several players" argument but I think we're taking it a level or two too high against these dudes.

Well, you'll almost never fold a better hand than you here given your description of this guy. He'll look you up with anything. I doubt you are up against A-high that will fold often enough for this to be anything but LAGy spewing.

Re: Rare Aggression

ok i never do this. so i said button is a postflop lag, meaning if i bet i believe im getting raised by button 100% of the time, making it hard for sb to call without at least a pair of Q. Once he raises, he has any 2, and I will 3 bet to try to represent a big hand or a pair of Q. He can peel and fold the turn UI. It was a big pot, and I know sb has a hand he likes so I can c/r both, I want to face him with 2 cold. I also know almost for sure that button is raising the flop. still spew? :P i have no idea this was a one time thing and i got lucky he folded the turn.

I suspect you had a better hand than he did anyway, although you may have scared him off a small pairor ace-high. Good that you won the hand though.
