Now I remember why I hate the Daily News

Article

From his description of each room he visited, it is pretty obvious that this guy has been to every good room in town, even the newer ones like the 23rd Street room that will remain unnamed, Galexy, Wall Street & NYPC. So nice of him to call the NYPD for a responce.

From the Article:
"A 50-player tournament set for the end of August in Southampton promises a first-place prize of $1,250; a Shelter Island game every Monday night requires a $25-to-$100 buy-in; a club in Long Island City offers a No Limit Hold'em game "almost every night," with a $150 buy-in."

Does anyone know where this club is in Long Island City?

Nothing in the newspapers today, but I did find this:

Dirty linen! Cops raid B'klyn laundry

BY VERONIKA BELENKAYA and TONY SCLAFANI
DAILY NEWS WRITERS

Vice cops raided a Brooklyn laundermat yesterday, busting eight people involved in what cops called an illegal gambling den hidden among the washers and dryers.
Armed with tools and a search warrant, detectives burst into the Moore St. laundermat about 1 p.m. and seized 21 slot machines and several thousand dollars, cops said.

They also confiscated three "Joker-Poker" machines, some records and bookkeeping used in the operation and a loaded .25-caliber Raven pistol, cops said.

Cops believe a numbers operation also was being run out of the shop.

Neighbors were not surprised to hear about the raid, saying the gambling hall was well known within the neighborhood.

"People play illegal numbers here. They bet against the horses and there's machines," said a woman who did not want her name used.

"People who are addicted to gambling go there," she added scornfully. "It's like a drug."

Five women and three men, all from Brooklyn, were slapped with possession of gambling devices, possession of gambling records and criminal possession of a weapon.

They were: Candida Matias, 60; Juana Martinez, 32; Maria Solis, 48; Luz Rosado, 44; Rosario Lopez, 59; Carlos Ramirez, 46; Luis Cruz, 52, and Mario Perez, 67.
