This is just me, the awesome play from the blinds guy we all know. Don't you like a check-call line on the river here? Especially if you're going to shovel in 100+ chips anyway? Or, are you thinking it's a blocking bet?

This is a really nice bet by him. I think there are reasons for calling and for folding. I would understand if you did either.

My thought at the time was that this river is a value bet. That changed quickly, of course.

I'm with Scuba, I prefer check-calling the river. I think you can fold to that raise. My guess is you're facing JT or some goofy two pair hand.

I'll elaborate a little more on why I decided to value bet.

Villian checks behind on the flop and then smooth calls the turn with one player left to act. This is consistent with how some people play a monster. It's also consistent with how someone might play a K, a Q, a club draw, any pair with a gutshot.

On the river, no draws got there. I figured that those non-ace pair hands that called the turn want to get to showdown and "keep me honest." They will probably call a small bet. I think the hands that call a small bet are a larger part of his range than the drawing hands.

If I get raised, I'm comfortable letting this go. There's a small risk that my weak river bet induces the raise from a worse hand, but I think this is uncommon by a random $55 player.

One more comment on the river fold. I think that most villians who raise here in an attempt to push me off a better hand raise a more than 110.

I like it, except I'd make a bigger river bet, say 180, to create a more effective block.
