Reaching Platinum Status on Stars through SnGs

Difficult to do? I 4 table the $33's on stars and sometimes play .50/1NL full ring. Would it be easier to accumulate FPPs through NL ring games or SnG's?

Platinum would require 667 $33 SnGs if my math is right, which would be 33.3 per workday if you play them five days a week for four weeks, which would be eight sets of four per day.

you will not get points very quickly at all on the .5/1 NL tables.

I don't know an exact figure for FPP's per hour on those smaller NL tables...but I think it would be pretty slooooooowwwwww.

However, 32 SNG's 5 days a week sounds like a lot to me also.
The 'regular' SNG's have a fairly long structure there. If you wanted to build the points a little faster via SNG's you could condsider the turbo and 6-max SNG's at least so that making it to the end of the tournament doesn't take over an hour each time.

Bob -

any estimates on %hands raked >$1 at 3/6 full? I think I remember you guessing 66% for 6max. I'm wondering if 6 full tables > 4 sh tables. i think it would be pretty close AFA hands/hr, and you're also paying a lower proportion of rake.

Did you factor in that after you reach certain levels you start accumulating FPPs faster? Going by this which was posted here on 2+2 I would only need around 412 SnGs/month. Is this correct?

Starting at the bronze level on 1/1/06 you would need to play:

1500 raked hands ($300 in tourney fees) to make the silver level

You get the silver level benefits immediately including the FPP bonus. You need 2500 more FPP to get the gold level but you get a 50% bonus so this means 1,666.67 raked hands ($333.33 tourney fees) for a total of 3,166.67 raked hands ($633.33 tourney fees).

This gives you the gold level which comes with a 100% FPP bonus. You need an additional 6000 points to make the platinum level so that would be 3000 raked hands ($600 tourney fees) or totals of 6166.67 raked hands ($1233.33 tourney fees).

From zero to platinum takes 6,167 raked hands or $1234 in tourney fees.

Not too long after that post we figured out that VIPs don't increase like FPPs do. You need to get 10k VIPs to make platinum, and that will still come at the normal rate.

It doesn't matter for purposes of status level.

FPP's (and faster accumulation) are for purchases only.

You need to play a full 10k hands (VPP's) to reach platinum.

This is very clear on their web-site (and in other threads about this) but it seems to be a common (and predicatable) mistake that many are making.

Any way you slice it, it's a lot of freakin' poker.

Does Stars have $44s or do they go right from $33 to $55?

Not sure how accurate this is, Bob. I've been playing the 0.50/1 NL tables on Stars all this last week and the points are adding up pretty fast. Last night, for example, I played about 1200 hands and got ~750 FPP. Of course, I'm getting double points right now, but that still would be about 375 for an few hours play (I 6-table).

At the rate I'm going I'll easily break 10k FPP by the 31st - which will be only 10 days worth of play (and I took a coule of days off). Even knowing my rate will be cut in half after 1/1, I should have no problem getting 10k per month in....I think.
