Free Email account to use with Eudora or Mozilla firebird?

Hi!
I am looking for an email service to use with a client like Eudora. I don't wan't an Internet account like yahoo, hotmail etc.

Anyone that knows of some free service like that?
I'd prefer an older company that is stable and have provided the service for years.

I have searched the net but cannot find anything like that(100s of others though).
thx guys

I don't know of any with SMTP (that allow sending mail).

For receiving mail, I use hotpop, gmail has pop access too.

You can still use your ISP's SMTP mailserver for your outgoing mail. Or if you're with a "bare-bones" provider that doesn't include SMTP access, you can install an SMTP service locally on your own machine.
