\"All In\" the Lyle Berman auto-bio.

Just finished it.

Good, more interesting from a business/personality standpoint than from a poker one.

If you like hearing a bit about the "Big Game" and like getting into the mind of someone who is both very driven and incredibly successful in the financial world than pick it up.

that is my review.

cheers. J.

I read it and thought it was a slow and boring read. Luckily I didn't pay for it and read it sitting in Barnes and Noble waiting on my wife to finish shopping. Most of the book is simply about Berman himself and his families leather business, as well as Berman's business ventures including his Rainforest Cafe, Grand Casinos, Stratosphere, Indian casinos and WPT businesses. Not much poker content at all. If you are just dying to know about Berman, I guess the book does it's job. He does go into some very general advice for poker players (don't do drugs, manage your money, blah, blah, blah). Overall, I wouldn't spend money on this book.

I agree with tippy. I found it somewhat interesting, and there were a few good stories. I didn't learn much about the big game. There is no instructional material. His take on business is anecdotal. His rules are simplistic and hackneyed. If you are the kind of person who wants to read everything about poker (like me) you should pick it up. If not read the prologue about his experience running a poker game at Penn, and the epilogue. That is by far the best story.
