Hero calls instantly. Yeah, maybe you're up against a flopped straight, in which case you're still going to win about a third of the time. But this could VERY easily be two pair, an OESD, or a flush draw, and if it's any combination of these, you're better than even money to win. Heck, I've seen people call this w/ J3 (it was sooooooted!). Getting over 2:1 on the call, at a $11, this is as easy as it gets.

First, I think you have to raise that preflop.


The range of hands you could be up against: AA, KK, QQ, flush draw or 2 flush draws, straight draws, unlikely a straight, and unlikely a set of Js. Just based on the pure probability of people moving in with draws in 10+1s, you have to call. You are probably in the lead, and even if the flush hits, you are still like a 25% chance of making a boat.

I don't like raising this PF at the 11s. You will get way too many callers and will be lost if overcards hit.

Also, why can't they have a straight? You don't think these guys are limping with Q9? There's a very good chance you're behind here, but odds dictate a call.

TT is a strong button hand. I think you need to raise preflop to limit the field. That way, you have more of an idea what you are up against. I'm not saying everyone is going to fold, but with a hand like TT, you need to make sure that people don't hit 2 pairs if cards under T come out. If overcards come, you can fold, but you don't want to go broke because someone hit 2-7.

All these callers in a 10+1 are weak. Maybe one is strong, and you can go heads up against him/her. You are just giving too many people the chance of hitting a monster here. Basically, if you don't raise TT, you are playing it the same way you would play 22 to 77, just hope you hit the set, otherwise you concede the hand.

In a $10+1, a TT early in the tournament truly is only as good as a 22-77 before the flop. At these levels, even the first caller could have a Q9o. If any one of these guys are possibly willing to open-limp in with Q9, they're not gonna fold to a raise unless it's a huge one, and can you justify making a huge raise with TT?

As for calling or folding, this is an easy call. People play insane at this level.

raise preflop with TT???? are you insane!!! i would even limp JJ in level 1 and play it for set value.
