Help in just starting 1/2 6-max

So I'm to the 1/2 6-max stage in my progression, but I've never played before. As such, a few questions on table selection.

What kind of average BB's should I be looking for? I know in full ring games, 5-6BB per hand is a good average, with lower hands meaning lots of blinds being picked up, and higher averages meaning lots of calldowns or a few maniacs. What are 6-max analogs?

What kind of 6-max stats (vpip and pfr specifically) are considered baseline/ideal?

Any other advice?

I'm admittedly nervous. I know it's "still poker", but SH is still new to me. I appreciate any help you're willing to give.

Mr. Wookie has a good starter thread in micro. check it out.

if you're playing 1/2 6 max at party, table selection should be the least of your worries.

I saw that thread, and perused all the linked threads, but didn't really come across an answer to these questions.

Table selection should be the least of my worries? That sounds... ominous.

I think he is trying to say that pretty much 99% of the 1/2 tables are very soft. You don't need much skill in table selection at this limit. The ideal stuation is to find 3 very loose passive players on your right side. (VPIP more than 50% and PFR less than 10%).

I don't know if you need to use any good table selection at 1/2, but it's very important when you get to 5/10 and higher.
