Sunday Afternoon in the Casino of Harrah\'s New Orleans...

I'll be in New Orleans the 2nd weekend in April, and due to flight expenses, I'll be returning on Monday. I'll be occupied Friday and Saturday, but that leaves all of Sunday for me to go to the casino there and play some 6/12. How are the games there on Sunday afternoons? The 6/12 at the Trop tightened up somewhat significantly (though I was seated to the right of a maniac) during Sunday afternoon.

Also, how is the card room in general? Do they ever run any tournaments/sngs that aren't complete crapshoots? Are the 6/12 and 10/20 games soft? All I remember from doing a search on this subject is that it was dark and in a kind of bad location within the casino.

Oh, and anyone want to meet me there and take my money?

It's loud, it's dark, there are no comps (I don't even think you can get your parking validated for playing poker), but it's as fishy as it gets.

Sure they validate parking.

Fishiest games on the planet, as far as I'm concerned. The 6/12 plays like the Party .50/1. Any two will do...

No tournies though, and ultra-high rake ($5+1). But I have fun everytime I get in there, which is usually at least once a week.

That's fine, as I won't be back to New Orleans for a while after this (in all likelihood, that is). And I won't have a car, so no need to get my parking validated. 5+1 is a pretty oppressive rake (I'm assuming the 1 goes into a bad beat jackpot or something?), is the rake the same at 10/20? If so, how does that play?

I wasn't sure. I don't even have a player card there, I just use my wife's video poker time to get the parking taken care of.

Give them your ticket when you put your name on the waitlist and they validate it before you even sit down. No players club card necessary.

The 10/20 plays just as bad as the other games. I saw a guy coldcall 3 bets pre with 64 off the other day (and of course flopped a boat), if that gives you an indication. Rich fish are no better than poor fish. The 10/20 is maybe very slightly more aggressive than the other levels, but not by much.
