best film EVER...

alright, here's a brief list of films that at one point or another have been called the best film everby some sort of critic or supposed expert. There's not doubt people will have issue with many of the choices, but I tried to get a good cross section of films people might rally behind.

I'm unsure why half of these movies are on this list.

Making such a poll is a bit worthless.

Too bad you can't take off a couple of movies guaranteed to get no votes (8 1/2, The Grand Illusion) and replace them with a couple of movies guaranteed to get a ton of votes (The Shawshank Redemption, City Of God).

Shawshank Redemption, but from your list, I'd say the God Father.

What a worthless poll. I voted for LoA, but it was a waste of my time.

LofA for me too. Needed several more (Lord of the Rings, one of the Powell/Pressberger films, blah, blah), but I'm not criticising the OP - good effort.
