WOW, looks like I had it exactly backwards! :-) The set of 4s does not suprise me, but AKs from MP1 does.

Question - did MP1 make a mistake by calling all in with TPTK and nut flush draw, if he KNEW he was up against a set? It feels wrong to me, but was hoping the math guys would help out here. Math guys?

flush draw beats a set ~1/4. the one pair doesn't help much.

Running the two hands on pokerstove gives AK [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] almost exactly 30% equity.

And the 4's caught quads.

And you didn't hit your two outer to beat him?

What kind of poker player are you, missing river outs on Stars to beat quads? What did you do piss off Lee?

Hand 1. If you aren't checking behind here what flops are you checking behind?

Hand 2. meh, big pot, call. I don't think much more than that in those super draw spots, and i really don't think you have to.

Re: Two hands (Stars 45k)

Hand 1:

I'd fold and let it go. This is a situation where I might not offer a continuation bet (based on opponent) because its unlikely that the flop hit hero. I'd probably be looking to bet/raise the turn.

Hand 2:

I'd fold. MP1 isn't moving in after checking without 1/2 equity in the pot. If either player has Axd then you will be less than 30% equity in the pot and most likely around 25% if the other one of them holds a set.

I... don't really check behind much at all HU. i dunno how big of a problem that is, i understand why this one could be good to check behind, how often are you checking behind in a HU pot after raising PF?

yeah, why does everyone in the thread seem to feel like this is the perfect flop to check behind?

Re: Two hands (Stars 45k)

I'd ballpark it at maybe 15%. Very occasionaly I give up, and often I flop a meh draw that i dont want to get bet off, or a medium made hand that plays better by getting to showdown/inducing bluffs.
