Raise preflop for value.

Call the river. I'd say K9/K4 is most likely, but the pot is easily large enough to see if he has 44 or Kx.

Hmm.

Does anyone have KK, QQ, KQ, K9 or K4?

KK and QQ is not likely if BB is LAG. LAGs almost always raise with premium hands. K9 or K4 are distant possibilies because flop got capped, but not completely out of line.

KQ is the hand you should be worried about. Only in that case BB:s game would make sense. But LAGs play pretty unpredictable. BB:s aggression factor is only 1.2, he is not super-aggressive LAG.

I think he has KQ, so I call river.

Hero should three-bet and expect the LAGtards to hold Q9, K2 or other silly hands like that.

well, I did 3-bet. Button folded and BB called with J8o. That's pretty stupid.

I really thought that KQ was unlikely sonce none of them raised it preflop. I didn't consider K4/K9 enough though, but I'm pretty sure he'd raise and cap the river with any Kx anyway.

Raise preflop for value.

Not necessarily for value. It's great that we hit our set but the reality is that we would like to have fewer opponents competing against our vulnerable nines.

There remain three players to act behind us and a raise would likely fold at least 2 of them, thus increasing the odds that our nines will hold up unimproved.

Against the standard donkLAG at 2/4 (which is what appears to be the case), I'd 3 bet the river. Their hand range is too large to not do so, especially with people trapped in between.

Also note that JT turned a straight, and with BB's passive calls on the flop he could easily have that as well.
