Limping for Value with Premium pockets
If you are sitting at a table, and you notice the players betting top pair strongly, and folding to raises preflop... Does limping in with AA, KK, QQ, AK make sense?
I can't tell you how many times, ive reaise 3bb with these, and everyone folds... If you truely belive you are better postflop player than any of your opponents, is limping these a +EV play? The type of table im talking about is the typical passive calling stations... Just curious on your opinions... I feel like its kinda like slow playing a set on a dry board.. YOu just wanna give them a chance to get committed... |

No. [/ QUOTE ] Go for it if you're desperately shortstacked against deepstacked villains; they'll almost inevitably pay you off with with top pair. Also depends on your table image, and if you only raise with premium hands. I don't mind making a play early on and raising 3x the current raise with absolute air (and showing), helps to get all the money in later on when you are actually holding AA. |
Re: Limping for Value with Premium pockets
if nobody is calling your preflop raises, raise with more hands not limp with premium hands.

Re: Limping for Value with Premium pockets
You are playing on the wrong tables if people wont call 3xBB pf raises. Also, you arent exploiting it to your advantage
