Flop play OOP vs a pf capper
 

4 handed. Button is a lagish player with an 11.86% raised pf, but will cap every time he gets 3 bet and bet every street.

Preflop
utg folds, button raises, i 3 bet A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in the sb, button caps.

Flop 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I check, button bets, i call

Turn T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

i check, button bets, i call

River 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I check, button bets, i call

ive run into a lot of players that will automatically cap when 3 bet, and ive had a lot of trouble playing AK AQ AJs etc after 3 betting and getting capped and missing the flop.
Any ideas?

given your read, this seems like a pretty good way to play it. I might c/r the flop for value if hes the type that cant fold overcards on a 555 board.

Villain sounds very aggressive, so this is probably a pretty good way to play it. He will keep betting and you win more when ahead (but, is he folding to a flop lead or check-raise, or will he generally call down?) and lose less when behind (I think it would be tough to bet/fold against this LAG).

Interested to hear what others say about the bet/fold or check-raise/fold lines. I often take one of those routes, and maybe that is incorrect against this kind of player in this spot.

if i c/r hes at least calling and seeing the turn and he may 3 bet with an ace or air

It seems to me that this supports your c/c line, for the reasons already stated. (And you're getting little or no fold equity from a bet or c/r).

I like it. lots of buttons will cap lightly because they have position, and are counting you to whiff the flop.

the river is the only good because of your read imo. You said that button likes to bet every street when he caps pf, and that he caps pf every time he gets threebet. If he's at all incapable of firing a pure bluff (or thinking any ace is good) on that river, it could swing it to a fold.

I don't do it vs this guy though. NH.
