1/2 NL 3 handed 2 guys always live straddle

I was playing at a card club this weekend and by about 4 AM the game broke down to just three players including myself. The other two have played together for years and talk trash to each other all night. They also live straddle every hand are aggresive preflop. They asked me if I would change the game to 2/5NL opposed to 1/2NL and they would stop straddling. I said I would prefer 1/2 using that I was short stacked as an excuse.

Is there any reason I would want to straddle or move up the limits? It seems the two of these guys straddling and playing every hand gives me a huge advantage is this correct?

If it changes anything they were not very good players preflop or postflop but they were passive postflop.

Thanks,

Clem

Agree, don't play 3 handed vs two people who know each other.

Straddling 3 handed is a strong enough move that traditionally it isn't allowed. Recently with the introduction of Miss straddle and the evolution of the rules straddling on the button is permitted.

Randy, fill me in. Since when is straddling on the button allowed?

Well if I was asked to rule on it I would rule it isn't, but in some games it is allowed with more than 3 players and I have seen it done (and have done it) in player games.

UTG can put out a bet that is 2xBB blind, before the hand is dealt, and has the option to raise it after the action has gone around the table the first time.

I was under the impression that a straddle in NL could be any size.

UTG is also the button, so he gets to act last pre and post flop when he straddles. It sucks to straddle 10 handed bc you are way oop.
